How to enable Subject Alternate Name (SAN) support on Windows Server 2008 (Active Directory Certificate Services)

From the command line on the server which is running Active Directory Certificate Services (AD CS) run:
certutil –setreg policy\SubjectAltName enabled
certutil –setreg policy\SubjectAltName2 enabled
Restart the certificate service

certutil –setreg policy\SubjectAltName enabled
certutil –setreg policy\SubjectAltName2 enabled

Now restart the certificate service

    you forgot the “-” before the setreg
    certutil –-setreg policy\SubjectAltName enabled
